Leesa and Huddy (as a puppy) at the Melbourne Royal

That's right folks, Sir Hudson (Huddy as he likes to be known), has charged to his title winning Challenge Dog at KCC today the 30th of June 2012.  Taking it all in his stride, a beaming Leesa was very excited as the result pushed her big fella over 100 points to gain his Australian Title.        "I had to do this for my greatest fan" said Huddy, "she's such a cool chic and been touring me around the country side it was time to pay back her faith in me.  I am pretty cool though myself" finished a modest Huddy.  Hudson is from Ch. Bernation Dream Weaveri and Zeigen Special Delivery  AI (imp NZ) so congrats to all involved in getting that combination together with special mention to Kim Haddon and Jo Peters.  Biggest congratulations to Leesa and Huddy on this great achievement, very happy for you and very proud of you.

Well done to Rory and Carolyn on achieving this result so quickly and cannot thank Peter and Jacqui in Ireland enough for entrusting us with this very special boy.  A bottle of champagne (the good stuff) heading your way Carolyn!!

SPECIALTY DONE AND SOME GREAT RESULTS FOR BERNATION

Another year and another specialty down with some great results for Bernation and a great day to catch up with everyone out there coming together for a bit of a yearly reunion.  Many thanks to the Saturday crew of Nik, Claudia, Shae, Leesa, Cheryl, Jo and Susan for the grand effort to get everyone prepared, pampered and  preened for the day.  Great work guys and a great way to catch up!

For the results with a large turn out yet again for the show for Bernation they were as follows:

Velvet took out Best Opposite Puppy in Show with Nik on the lead and is making a big impression for such a big and bouncy girl.  Love what Juneau has produced and love the way her offspring are getting results but more importantly are fantastic examples of the breed in temperament and behaviour.

Paris came second in Jnr Bitch class in the biggest group beating some great opposition.  Love her and what you are doing with her so keep it up and more great things will come to Michelle and Duane and their special girl.

Pip worked hard for third in Minor Puppy Bitch against some good opposition and beautifully handled yet again by Claudia to achieve another great result for Pip.  The best is coming Claudia and we are very proud of both of you and so pleased for both of you.

Juneau got 2nd in Ausbred Bitch for Flick and Solo third in Open Bitch with Michael on the lead  to round off a great day for Bernation.

Many thanks to Lisa Ebnet for some great feedback and where do we start with everyone involved in the day.  Its not all about whether you win or loose, it comes down to surrounding yourself with great like minded people and the journey would not be the same without all of you there to help with developing these dogs to their full potential.  Thanks to (in no order and take a breath!) Kylie, Claudia, Carolyn, Nik, Dana, Leesa, Shae, Michelle, Duane, Micheal, Molly, Jemma, Susan, Cheryl and Jo for your support and friendship and look forward to more good times together.

SOLO, CASSIDY AND RUBY SHINE IN SYDNEY ROYAL 2012!!

Well, the Bernation camp headed north on the highway for the Sydney Royal 2012 for the first time and judging by the results and smiles on return it may be an annual event.  Carolyn and Kylie hooked up the trailer and Felicity was met by them to be showered in hospitality by Michael in his NSW home.  Solo came away with Challenge Bitch beating some great competition of some of the best Bernese in the country. FEBRUARY 2012

Bernation Journey to Swisskiss enjoying the snow in Canada

The big month of February has come and gone with some great news coming through about health, showing and general chit chat.  For a round up we will start with the show stuff and then head in to the all important hip and elbow results.

Carolyn and Rory (Bernemcourt Born to Run Imp Nth Ireland)

Great win for Rory at the Sunshine Kennel Club on the 18th of Feb where he picked up Best of Breed followed by an outstanding Minor Puppy in Show.  Well done to Rory and well done to Carolyn for an outstanding result.  He also picked up a Challenge Dog at Bendigo and a Challenge Dog at KCC to round off the month taking him a long way towards his title.

Flick and the Kids

Haven't been showing a lot of the gang but when we have the results have been very pleasing.  Juneau has been picking up some great BOB and Challenge results the past few weeks coming back to her normal self after her previous litter.  Very pleased with how she is performing and how she looks as she bounds around the ring.  Duchess is developing into a nice girl and with time and age looking forward to some big things coming her way.  The others have been enjoying a bit of a hiatus after gaining their titles and have earned the rest and enjoying romping around the farm driving Thomas to a giggling mess.

Journey and the Canadian Connection

Journey has been going great in Canada and is nearing his title in conformation.  Bigger news is that he is now a dad having a single puppy for Madeline and Geoff at Swisskiss.  Seen the photos, love the girl and hope she is all that they want in a Bernese. Congratulations to all and big hugs to Journey.

Kylie and the Gang

Kylie has been out and about with Jackson and Ruby.  Jackson picked up a puppy in group and has been adding to his points along with Ruby picking up BOB at a recent show.  Well done to Kylie and great to see the next generation developing so well under her care.

Shae and Lenny

Lenny came back into the ring with some great results picking up Reserve Challenge at two shows in the last week of February at KCC. Great to see them back and look forward to some great results and good company in the coming weeks.

Susan and Bernation Stirling (Walter)

Walter picked up his first points in the last weekend of February at the tender age of 7 months beating some good and older competition. Hoping big things are coming his way and very happy for him and Susan.

Leesa and Sir Hudson

Huddie picked up more points with a Challenge Dog and RU BOB in his appearance for February.  Great result as he bounds towards his title passing the half way mark with limited shows at the age of 2.  Well done to Leesa and Huddie and look forward to some more great results in the coming months.

Duane, Michelle and Paris

Not much on the show scene down there but big results in the hip and elbow department.  Paris came back with 0,0 elbows and 0,1 hips continuing the great results in the health department.  Very, very happy for Duane and Michelle and very proud of Paris.

Well done and thanks goes to Dana, Claudia and Nikki for the month with some great presentations and prep and for your support and help. Without the assistance of all involved it would not be as enjoyable, social or exciting as it is in all your company.  Well done to all and we look forward to seeing you all in the coming months.

NOVEMBER, DECEMBER 2011 AND JANUARY 2012

Yep, we fell behind a bit in the last bit of 2011, so here is a bit of a catch up and a few big congratulations for what has occurred over that time

in the show ring.  Here we go!!

 Bernation Touch of Tuscany

DANA AND TUSCANY

KYLIE, RUBY AND JACKSON

Kylie has been roaming the north post pre Christmas with some of the next generation and getting some great results.  Ruby has picked up points and some very good Age in Group wins to make Kylie very happy.  Jackson, not to be outdone, has picked up his own swag of points to almost reach his title at only 10 months of age.  Add to that some Age in Group wins and this trio is doing a magnificent job.  Well done Kylie and be popping corks soon when the big fella gets the official nod.

DUANE, MICHELLE, PARIS AND BRADY

Well, the "Brady Bunch" are back with a vengeance taking to the ring with some pizzazz.  Paris has picked up some Best of Breed and Challenge Points and, again not to be outdone, Brady has re-ignited his show career with some points and placings.  Great to see them doing so well and look forward to another holiday with this bunch in their beach side pad.

CLAUDIA AND PIP

Claudia has also been out and about with her girl Pretty in Pink (Pip) winning Baby Puppy in Breed against some good opposition in two of three shows at Lancefield.  Great to see success coming her way and to see how beautifully trained Pip is over this short period.  Well done to Claudia and Pip.

FLICK AND THE KIDS

Juneau has come back in the ring and picked up a few good Challenge wins in some good shows at KCC park.  Coming back from having babies was going to take a while but great to see her in the form and showing her kids how it is done.  Solo has also been having a good go winning a few very good Best of Breed and Challenges leading to her recent Australian Championship.  With Dutchess adding some points to her collection to take her on the way to her title, it all looks pretty healthy on the show front.

Congratulations to all involved in the showing, apologies for the delay in news and for anything I have missed in the past weeks.  Feel free to get into me via the boss.

Bernation Caeser and Duke (Hudson/Hannah) came back with hips of 1,0 and 1,1 respectively making Minka Carmel and one breeder very happy!!  The elbows weren't done through a mistake but as they are de-sexed pets it was not followed up.  Well done again guys

Bernation Izzy (Denzel / Jessie) for Dean came back with a 3,3 hips and 0,0 elbows.  Excellent result!

Bernation Saphire Star (Jessie Denzel) came back with 1,2 hips and 0,0 elbows

We had a great day with some great friends against some of the best Bernese Australia has to offer.  Juneau again came to the fore with a Reserve Bitch Challenge (2nd overall in the bitches) and Best Opposite Ausbred.  We love her, she is awesome and we are very proud of her results over the short years that she has been showing.  She has had two Reserve Bitch Challenges at the Specialties and continues to improve with age.

Le Beau Chien picked up Best Baby Puppy Bitch for Michelle in a big class and was very impressive in her handling and presentation.  Great hope for the next generation in this one!!

Bernation Touch of Sparkle (Shima) continues to improve and show great promise with a Best Bitch Puppy for Nikki making Sabi and Raj very proud parents!!

For the boys, Lenny finished second in his class for Shae and again shows great promise after only a couple of  shows.  Sir Hudson picked up third in his class with Leesa and is developing into a fine young man.  Luka picked up second in his class for Dana to round off the boys.

For the girls,  Bernation Serafina picked up second in her class and Kassie was beautifully handled and presented by Claudia.  Claudia continues to shine with her handling of our girls and we congratulate her and Catherine and Mina for their support, friendship and encouragement over the years.  There are plenty of good days to come guys and we love having you there with us.  Touch of Tuscany got it over her sister Oh So Classy (Rush) and best friend Solo this year with a third in her class with Dana.  Well done Dana and a great result for a beautiful girl.  Solo and Rush were beautifully behaved but didn't catch the judges eye this year but show great promise and continue to improve.  Chile was a big surprise picking up 5th in her big class in her first and probably only appearance in the ring.  Big kudos to Pete for his work with her and was well worth the effort to get her to the show and get some great independent feedback on her.  We just need to teach her to cook heh Pete?!

ALL THAT SHIMMERS IN THIS WORLD

Wow, what a weekend for Nikki SMITH and Shima up at Shepparton.  Travelling north up the highway little did this pair know that they would not be returning until the sun was setting in the West.  Best Baby Puppy in Show at Shep was the highlight of the weekend.  Described as having the best balance of a baby puppy the judge had seen, Nik and Shima pulled one out to take the In Show Title.  Wow, says Flick and Andy and continue to rave about Niks' handling and training of this little girl.  Thats a Best Baby in Show, two Best Baby in Group and second at the Royal for this couple and we continue to be impressed and send our appreciation and accolades to Nik and Shima.  Photos to come.....

HOT CHILE WOMAN

So cool, so calm but hot under the collar is the PJ Collins version of "Hot Chile Woman" who has danced her way to a score of 1,0 hips and 0,0 elbows.  Another of Cleos' daughters who has scored up and done the right thing by Pete.  "Sure, it was hard to keep up with Pete" Chile says "and his active lifestyle, but when he built that pergola and paved the backyard in my honour then I reckon I had to pull this one out of the hat to impress him."  Pete and Chile are now off to obedience on the Bellarine Peninsula and we look forward to more exciting scores coming through from the Cleo / Eiger mating.

A TWO FOR BENSON

Big boned and big hearted Benson has brought a smile to Rachele, Dion and the kids (including Max) faces when he brought back a score of 2 on his hips and 0 on his elbows.  "You look after yourself, then you get the rewards" says Benson.  "My body is a temple and the workouts in the gym and time spent in the sandpit have paid off."  Great results for his mum, so proud after scoring a 0 all round herself and we remind all those with Sharni / Monti pups that it is time to score up so the parents can brag, on top of Hudsons 0 all round and Ronnie a 2 hips and 0 elbows.  Will be calling you all shortly!!
